Is my donation tax-exempt?
Yes. We are registered under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. Indian donors receive a 50% tax exemption on their donation. You will receive a receipt with our 80G certificate number.
How much of my donation reaches the community?
92% of every rupee goes directly to program activities. 8% covers administrative and fundraising costs — well below the industry average of 15-20%.
Can I visit your project location?
Absolutely. We welcome donors and partners to visit our field sites. Please contact us to schedule a visit — we recommend at least 2 weeks' notice. You will need to arrange your own travel to Tinsukia, Assam.
Do you accept international donations?
Currently, we can accept international donations through GiveIndia and GlobalGiving. Our FCRA registration is in process and expected by Year 2, which will allow us to receive direct international transfers.
How do you select which gardens to work in?
We work in gardens where (1) the community expresses interest, (2) the garden management provides a no-objection letter, (3) there is no other NGO actively working, and (4) we have the capacity to deliver quality programs.
Can I volunteer if I don't speak the local language?
Yes! While speaking Assamese or Hindi is helpful for field volunteering, we have many remote volunteering opportunities (grant writing, design, social media, research) where English is sufficient.
